how far would you go for a good translation?

MaryJonesBibleOnce upon a time there was a young woman called Mary Jones.

She was Welsh.

She wanted to read the bible in her own language.

So she saved for 6 years and walked 26 miles to get a copy.

The End? No…

Her efforts inspired the founder of the Bible Society to make the text available in many languages across the world.

Follow her route (people still walk it), read her story in Welsh and English on the Cardiff University website, which is where this image of her Bible came from.
